Benjamin T. McLawhorn

Founder and Managing Partner

Attorney Benjamin T. McLawhorn is a proud North Carolina native who has spent most of his life in Eastern NC. He earned his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University, along with certifications in welding and a license to teach in the trades. An early career that shaped his understanding of hard work, fairness, and advocacy.

Driven by a desire to make a deeper impact, Attorney McLawhorn earned his Juris Doctorate degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Since then, he has dedicated his career to fighting for clients in family cases, employment disputes, and civil litigation issues.

In 2018, he founded The Law Offices of Benjamin T. McLawhorn with a clear mission: guiding clients from “I do, to I deserve.” Ben is passionate about providing steady guidance through life’s most challenging legal transitions and known for his tenacity, empathy, and real-world approach. He is the advocate you want in your corner.

Ayda Atici

Paralegal

Joining the firm after completion of her undergraduate studies on the West Coast, Ayda has quickly adapted to her legal career and has begun to build meaningful connections within the local legal community.

Having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California - San Diego, in just two years, she was an active member of the law review and the Speech/Debate teams. While at the firm, Ayda has sharpened her legal research, analytical thinking, and advocacy skills.

A hard-working and driven paralegal, Ayda is passionate about helping individuals navigate emotionally charged situations. She brings focus, empathy, and drive to every case she handles at the firm.

Jared Morgan

Associate Attorney

A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Jared brings a strong academic foundation and unrelenting drive to the firm. Jared earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama (Roll tide!). After completing his graduate studies, Jared returned to North Carolina, where he discovered his true calling at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in Raleigh.

During law school, Jared was elected to the Student Bar Association and served as a representative for his fellow students. He is committed to delivering client-first advocacy, compassion, and clarity for individuals and families facing significant legal challenges. He is your behind the scenes key legal researcher and has a drive like no other!

Allison Squires

Office Manager

Allison joined The Law Offices of Benjamin T. McLawhorn in 2025 following a standout summer internship that quickly proved her to be a vital staff member. With a wide-ranging background, including experience in optometric and ophthalmology medical offices, and even cheese mongering, Allison has now set her sights on the legal field. Allison brings versatility, discipline, and a fresh perspective to everything she does.

Allison earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill and plans to attend law school in the fall of 2026. Her ability to adapt, learn quickly, and take initiative has made her an valuable asset to the firm. Whether supporting casework or helping clients navigate their legal process, Allison approaches every task with determination and a can-do attitude. We’re proud to have her as part of the team!
